On a cold December morning, I was soaking in the grandeur of the fog atop Canyonlands. I admired the beauty of the fog as it rolled quickly through the scene, up from the canyon and over the mesa all around me. Then a lone tree grabbed my attention, which showed incredible resilience in a most precarious location. I wanted to capture this wonderful feature, so I crept up to the cliff on my belly and peaked my lens just over the ledge, and released the shutter.
