Watchful Eye

"Watchful Eye." Just returned from another field trip, and what an experience it was! Our small group spotted this guy off in the distance about a quarter mile away. We made our way in his direction, not directly at him, but rather using the wind to our advantage and so as not to prompt any aggression. While positioning, we lost sight of him, so took a guess where we thought he may show up. Sure enough, right on cue he appeared over the horizon, and walked right towards us. We stood there and watched the moment develop. He walked down to a small stream that ran between us and began drinking, 20 meters away. As he finished, he lifted his head while keeping a watchful eye on us, and I captured this frame. Nature is amazing!
