Calm

"Calm." I explored through this area of Alaska for the first time, with a yearning to capture a scene that showed the essence of its incredible wilderness. When I reached this bend in the lake, the view grabbed my attention. Solo, I walked to shore, setup the tripod and savored the moment for a short while. A gentle wind prevailed, and during my wait, it calmed. The water smoothed to a mirror, then I pressured the shutter release.
