Remnants
The first Saltair resort was completed in 1893, and was designed by a well-known Utah architect, Richard K.A. Kletting, and rested on over 2,000 posts and pilings. Several fires over the years took their toll on the landmark. Although there is a primary "pavilion" that stands today (built in 1981), it was built long after the original site [source: wikipedia].
