Day's End
I spent the day back-tracking to where I had been the previous day, driving from Canmore and almost to Radium Hot Springs. Then I turned around and headed back to the north so that I could reach Jasper National Park around nightfall. Yes, that is three national parks in one day, Kootenay, Banff, and Jasper. What a splendid day for photography. But unfortunately Mother Nature had different plans for the days, as most of it was rainy and thick overcast. Then at day's end, I saw the glimmer of light reaching through the clouds, then rays, then highlights on the cliff tops. I raced to find a vantage point. And as is often the case, the best view was right behind me. I turned around to this scene, grabbed by telephoto lens to bring the excitement up close and personal, and snapped the shot.
