Intensity
"Intensity." When I first began photographing bears, I yearned for a moment when a brown bear would look right at the lens, even just for a moment, while filling the lens. The challenge is that bears are not sedentary creatures, and generally will only glance at passersby for a brief moment. The shot eluded me for years. Then finally, the opportunity came when a boar approached me on a late spring day. For only half a second he gazed at me, yet the intensity of the moment was thick. I clicked three frames, then he continued on the path off to my right. Thankfully there was one frame that brought me a smile. Simply another amazing experience in Alaska's backcountry!
