White Sand
The Caribbean sports some of the most magical sand and water in the world, and in fact these beachfronts frequently top the world's best on the Travel Channel. I wandered down to the beach in search of a perspective that would capture both the ruggedness of the Turks seashores and also the softness of its and. I found the spot on a mid-spring day at late morning, when light casts nearly straight down into the crystal blue, turquoise water. To say the sand is soft is no exaggeration, as it feels like the consistency of powdered sugar and is nearly as white, too. Not too many minutes after this shot, I was overcome by a later morning rain squall, dropping inches of rain over the period of an hour or two. Lucky snag just before the storm!
