A short one-mile roundtrip hike above Historic Highway 30 in the Columbia River Gorge is a section of falls on Horsetail Creek called Upper Horsetail Falls, or Ponytail Falls. Ponytail Falls drop 88 feet into a large pool, before cascading further down Horsetail Creek. The trail takes hikers right under the falls, and most capture the falls from that perspective. I decided to capture a panorama from the base of the falls, well within the spray range, making shooting difficult. I took my time to setup the shot, wiped the lens free of water spots, then fired this single exposure. Springtime added to the serene moment with a lime-green canopy covering nearly all surfaces. Amazing!
